I am re-keying the door locks on my '73, and wanted to replace the lock cylinder sealing ring. The replacement seal that both Stoddard and Sierra Madre carry is listed as applying only to 65-69.

Has anyone tried this seal in a later style door handle?

On the other hand, the VW part number mentioned above looks very similar in shape and material to the original 911 seal. They are cheap enough that I'll probably just order two of them to see if they fit. Here is a picture of the VW seal I found on the ECS site:
