In that thread, we have already determined the sender is not broken.
When the sender is removed and bottomed out, it reads 67 ohms, which is supposedly correct.
When connected, at 67 ohms, the gauge shows 1/2. This proves it's the gauge, and not the sender.
So, the sender is doing sending what it's supposed to. Sending 67ohms at E.

Looking for info on how to repair the gas gauge.
If I understand this post correctly, the OP has removed the sender from the tank, connected it to the gauge, turned it upside down and right side up, yet the gauge still reads only half empty when the sender reads 67 ohms.

This has nothing to do with the float hanging up in the tank, if I understand the testing by the OP correctly and the proper ohm reading for "empty" is 67.
