I happen to like the smoothness and sound of a six. I don't happen to like either of those characteristics of a 4. This is all about fuel economy. They are not doing it because they want to.
Having owned a bunch of turbocharged cars, let me tell you the running costs will go up and the service life will go down. I hope you like PDK, because that will be shoved down our throats, too.
