It all depends on whether you were using a right hand hammer in your left hand or a left hand hammer in your right hand. Then comes the variable of whether the hammer knew you were trying to hit the steel or aluminum nail and not the nail on the end of your finger. Just so you know, a hammer can not differentiate between the 3 different nail types. Hammers only know they are supposed to hit a nail.
