From reading more on this, it sounds like once the Patriots lose possession of the ball either by turnover, punt or whatever, the Colts would put one of the twelve they submitted into play.
This would also seem to say that the balls the Colts were using were acceptable for play thereby validating the claim that none of their footballs failed inspection.
