Wrong.
The US Customs *do* care. For whatever reason, you were lucky your cars made it through. The US Customs want to know that cars leaving their country have valid titles (not stolen), and are not the subjects of any criminal activities.
My experience is in importing/exporting m/c's. Rules for cars are no different.
Call the US Customs before you import to Canada for info.
If in doubt, use the services of a Customs Broker. They know how to cut through the red tape, and can save you a lot of frustration.
