At a minimum you play action fake to Lynch with Lynch faking the dive and then try the pass. Terrible, terrible call.

I was merely pointing out another perspective on why they threw it instead of running it.
Even with Lynch, NE has a pretty stout goal line defense so there's no guarantee he would have gotten in.
