Yep, just eliminate them...it's that easy.
What would eliminating them look like? Start bombing every country we think they are in? Think maybe those countries might have something to say about that?
Huge difference is back then, we knew who "they" were and where to aim at "them". What to do now? We're talking about an extremist sect of a religion that are in multiple cities, countries... not a country.
I'm not sure what the answer is but dropping nukes anywhere we think they might be is for sure NOT the answer.
