Only if you are British. Here in 'merica, "pistol" and "revolver" are two distinctly separate classes of handgun, at least for those who care about accuracy in their terminology.

"Carbine" and "rifle" describe distinctly different longarms. Unfortunately, however, the distinction between these two terms has become even more blurred than that between "pistol" and "revolver", at least for the less knowledgeable in such matters.
