My son wanted to see some of the world coming out of HS.....I was surprised at his wanderlust. I suggested he join the AF.......why?, says he. because compared to the rest of the services, the AF goes first cabin with a minimum of BS, says I. When i was in the ARMY we used to fight over who got to go to the AF detachment just for the food. (no KP for them airmen)
He went AF as a mechanic, stayed in 7 years and ended up as a flying crew chief on a C-5A.....went all over hell gone...IIRC, the only continent he missed was
Antarctica. He then went straight to work for the AF as a civilian working C-17s.
He is now an E-7 in the reserves.
