There was only one time Penny, my first golden went nuts. I actually took her to a local big fireworks display. She was absolutely fine until the grand finale, then she bolted. Hit the end of the leash so hard it broke and I was chasing her down the sidewalk. Just as she approached a car packed with Mexicans opened a rear door and she dived in. I never saw so many people get out of a car so quickly. It was hilarious, kinda like a clown car emergency evacuation. By the time I got to the car the finale was over and Penny was back to normal. The Mexicans were all as confused as could be. Penny was not guy shy.
