I've got a suspicion this Williams thing is far from over. At one point in the interview with Me-Gyn Kelly Brit Hume actually said Brian was a friend of his. He later referred to Brian in the present tense but that slip was enlightening to those of us with tin-foil headgear.

Maybe Brian will sue NBC like Rather did CBS. Typically, weak people who embellish themselves are shocked that their so-called friends bail on 'em. They think that just being a nice guy insulates them from criticism and scrutiny. Apparently NBC knew from the get go that Williams was lying about being shot down by an RPG. If true, that NBC knew all along, Williams may actually try to sue for wrongful discharge because his lying all these years was an acceptable past practice and his employers knew.

Only when the credibility of NBC News' was questioned did it become an issue for them.
