Baz, are the ones you're currently using look like this?
If so, there are two generations of 1 day disposables from Acuvue that have since been released. First is Acuvue One Day Moist, the other being TruEye. I work at an optometry office and am the guinea pig for any and all new brands of contacts, and to date the TruEye is my absolute favorite. I normally wear monthly lenses (currently, Bosch and Lomb Ultra's) but if I have to travel or go on a roadtrip I make sure I have the TruEye's in my eyes. I don't feel them at all, and stays moist even after a really long day. Since your eyes are different than mine your mileage may vary, but definitely worth a shot if you like having daily lenses. If I could afford them I definitely would have a year's supply of TruEye's!
There are also many different brands of 1 day disposable contacts from each major manufacturer; Coopervision has their ProClear 1 day's, B&L has their BioTrue One Day's, and Alcon/CibaVision has their Daily Comfort Plus dailes as well as the relatively new Dailies Total One. This one was supposed to be the end all be all, but I hated them. Next time you get your yearly checkup just ask the doctor to try different brands; you might find something that is more comfortable than what you currently have.
