Books are going to have bias as well. Even books are probably often going to be embellished to make them seem more exciting. Books are probably going to be less embellished and less sensationalized than movies.

Honestly, almost any book is going to have the bias of the author, even if the author was trying to do unbiased research.

The best way to determine would probably be to see data from several sources including sources that are likely to be biased from both sides and try to determine the middle ground.
