Vietnam in HD was a very good documentary but isn't nearly as moving as Platoon or We Were Soldiers.
Apocalypse Now was always a bit silly IMO and you either love or hate Full Metal Jacket.

Sorry, I think, thought Platoon was pure crap. I don't know anyone that was there that thought it was good. Really, the next worse one was Born on the 4th of July. Pure crap.
Full Metal Jacket was pretty good, very good. The scene in Hue during TET, where the guy rides up with a hooker to sell to the guys. The Sgt says here, I will trade you an ARVN rifle for her, it's only been dropped once. So much truth to that.
I always thought of Apocalypse as a pretty stretched move, I could see glimmers of truth behind a lot of it. Maybe Brian Williams wrote it.
