For some reason, I've always been in awe what humans accomplished between 1900 and 1918.
Manned flight, the Model T, a World War, a shift from an agrarian to an urban or industrial society - the list goes on and on.... the nation (and the world) were turning a corner to a whole 'nother era.
I always "felt" as though those were some big, big years, long years where big thinkers were
getting lots of great things done.
Having said that, the last 15 years have gone by in a blur, and I wonder if I'm so close to history that I don't recognize the touchstones...
What of "our" turn of the century? Are big thinkers getting great things done? Have we turned another corner?
The period of time between 1900 and 1918 will forever be known as The Progressive era.
What will our grandkids call this part of history? (Will they have jetpacks and time travel in 2059?
(so to answer your question, yeah, it is pretty incredible that it's already 2015!)
