That condenser shows no cylindrical end on the opposite side to transfer the flow, so I imagine it has to be looped.
EarlyPorsche, you can do pretty much what you want if going so far as to adapt new lines. I don't think it's crazy, it can't be anything but helpful. The only thing I fear about a parallel flow condenser is the fact that I would have to replace it should a compressor send metal through it.
Personally, I would go with a microtube serpentine just for that fact. They work better than the old tube and fin for sure.
Keep in mind, when changing condensers from stock, you will have to account for a change in total system volume. How much depends on what you put in there. 6MM, 5MM? # of rows? It's all relevant.
