Sent it to get finished up - I just didn't have the bandwidth the put in another day. I was in Nashville all week freezing my tail off but at least the truck is done and running - my friend appreciated the cataloguing of parts. Made his job easier. He ended up taking off the AC unit anyway. He also thanked me for not taking off the distributor completely! I said that I didn't in respect to him...little did he know I never had an intention of taking it off anyway!
Thanks for your help...now if I could just figure out how to take the darn time chain cover off the MB without pulling the engine! I think I will have to take off the oil pan and pump - I have conflicting bits of info. MB service says you don't have too, threads elsewhere says its a must. That engine has busted two socket extensions, stripped two Allen bolts and snapped a box wrench! Freaking thing is a tool eater... and I still have grease under my fingernails!
Let me know if you need to hide for a few hours some Sunday...there is always fun to be had and tools to break on that enigma...
