The only fat tire I tried was a budget Origin 8 with the Nuvinci infinite variable hub. Heavy but I liked it. It was chain drive but I understand they also offer a belt drive. The hub worked very well yet a weird sensation how easily the ratios change. Has a cute little indicator. I don't much beyond that or of its robustness.

Riding my buddies Trek MTB in the snow just sinks in, i think the Fat tire would be fun for snow.
