I lived in Wylie from 1978 to 1982. At that time the town had 2700 people, nine churches, one flashing yellow light and no liquor stores. Everyone knew everyone else. When the famous axe murder happened in 1980, the local paper didn't even bother reporting on it because we all knew everyone involved and knew sooner than the paper could go to print. It's at 42,000 residents now! I don't know how they could possibly build enough infrastructure out there to support that. I remember having water restrictions back in the day. How do they handle a 15x increase in population now?
