Wow, that's too bad, but all good things slow down at some point. I am looking at my #2 spark plug fouling up - and I have similar external gunk visible. This afternoon my intention was to check the tightness of the studs. None of them fell out when I took the lower valve cover off yesterday, but I'll see if they are snug. Did yours fall out, or did it come loose when you attempted to turn it?
