Yes, the "ways" are number of directions. I assumed they were 8-ways as you have the backrest motorized tilt hinge. I haven't seen very many 6-ways. Those are 6-ways, just count the arrows. Backrest front/back tilt and bottom front/rear up/down height. 8-ways have the added fore/aft motorized movement of the whole seat.
