I have had very positive and very negative experiences with LEO, but they are trending towards the negative.

The European LEO's are FAR, FAR, FAR more reasonable than the ones over here in NA, there they are more interested in catching people doing stupid stuff and leave the speed enforcement to traffic camera's (which I hate btw).

The LEO's on this side of the ocean seem to have lost sight of their purpose and who the law serves, particularly with regard to highway laws. The highway laws are meant to find a balance between speed, traffic motility and safety, and as with any legal system, one can never define a set of laws with sufficient orthogonality to cover every situation, so the balanced LEO will look to see what is safe (for him to approach of course), but also what is helping flow traffic, curb the stuff that some people do that impede traffic or create unreasonable risks to themselves or others.

The crap in the video both frightens me in terms of travel to the US and also angers me.....all they had to do was ask the guy what he was doing, check out the situation with a bit of care and then do their work properly and thoroughly. Fail on so many counts.

Personally I would have gotten shot.....I would have been asking what his reasonable cause was (hands up of course) and would have died.

Ah well, better shot dead, free on your feet than a slave naked in the back seat of a LEO's car....
