Is eating the cost of shipping normal for defective parts?
My scenario: I ordered a part, and the part became defective within a month. I paid for shipping, and would have paid for shipping back a core, but hadn't returned one yet. I was cool with that, but now I have to pay to return the failed part I bought.
The vendor only has one left, and I can't fathom why I should be stuck with the cost of shipping times 3 should the replacement also fail.
The guy I talked with on the phone said, "It's how things are buying parts on the internet, imagine if you had to go to the parts store and spend the time and gas to buy the same part. You'd have to pay for that.".
I was speechless. I expected to hear him say there will be an issuance of a call tag for the part.
This isn't a fly by night company either. I'm beside myself.
