Years ago I worked on a crew that rebuilt these engines. Not as big, but close.
They were 8 cylinder, 3' bore and 2' stroke and they fired above and below the pistons which were water cooled along with the rods.
130,000 cu. in. displacement but nowhere near as much hp. Of course they only ran at 180 rpm. Oh, they were also german. Seems the US confiscated them after WWII.
