Interesting. I've seen the red key mentioned in a lot if ads and wondered what the big deal was. Now I know, as the OP's pal could buy another bike for what Ducati's asking.
I don't get how someone loses all three keys, unless he kept them where all those Craigslist sellers keep their titles.
I wish him good luck with a solution, though.
