Like I said, I think my dog can hold his own against one coyote, but not four that come in the yard. Smart buggers too, they will have a female in heat lead a male dog out and then kill him. A pack will surround a dog and one will tear its Achilles heel and hobble him and then go for the kill.

When my MIL was alive and living with us she'd leave her door open for her rat dog. One night after going in the hot tub, a little drunk, I came out and kicked a baby rattler in my hallway. Nothing like trying to gently cut the head off of a rattler with a shovel on my brand new hardwood floors!
