I would say that the '75 clip is going to be a major hit on price (no pun intended). It's 1/3 of the cars sheet metal. Also, on what's been stated, how was the VIN transfer done to the clip?
If you have photos of the work, knew who did the work, etc it will help your case.
914-6s are very rare and very desirable and I believe it would be the market that would tell you what the going price would be with a car with such a story. Some wouldn't care but obviously collectors would. I am interested to hear what other people say, but Racerbvd is an expert so I would probably place all the chips on him.
And looking to what you said, it seems you are or are close to being the original owner. So you must know the story, since 45 years puts you back to 1970, and that's probably how old the car is.
