My 911 is a 74 3.0 RS clone. So its kind of minimalistic. I've just finished removing the seat rails. Built some new ones that lowered the seat about 2 inches. So things are tight under the seat.
After talking to Jeff I removed the altitude compensator. Then slid the ECU over about an inch to center it right in the middle. Jeff did mention that I may need to add some length to the harness from the ECU to the fuse box. This will allow for a much more sanitary harness dress.
The other problem being is the harness is 30 years old. If I was in your position I would look at getting it recovered. Mine is really stiff. Hard to position where I wanted it to go. I did use my heat gun to soften it a bit.
Here's where I ended the day.
With no backseat and a harness bar it may get positioned against the foot well after the RS carpet kit gets installed.
