I'm always a little surprised when you appoint yourself the defender of all PARF posters and go into your massive indignation mode here. Is everyone over there an ass hole? No. Are many/most? Without a doubt.
Lots of members avoid that sub-forum completely because of the general tone of the place, not because they are incapable of discussing politics or religion. It has nothing to do with "big girl pants" to choose to avoid a nasty forum where vulgarity and stupidity, mixed with frequent racism and witless sarcasm rule the day and people are getting banned for intensely personal attacks and online threats on a regular basis. To make it even more attractive, some of the most frequent posters seem to be drunk most of the time.
Other than that, it's great!
Seeing as how none of the above really applies to you, why the thin skin and militant defense?
