I have a friend that bought a new F150 w/ecoboost V6 when they first came out a couple of years ago. No problems to date. When cruising with a light foot on the interstate it gets 25+ mpg. Probably 17-18 in town. The 4 cylinder turbo in the Mustang requires premium gas as does the 5.0 V8. The standard V6 is the only engine rated for 87 octane regular gas.
