Probably 17-18 in town. The 4 cylinder turbo in the Mustang requires premium gas as does the 5.0 V8. The standard V6 is the only engine rated for 87 octane regular gas.

Neither require premium fuel. I believe they say that 91 is "recommended for maximum performance" or something to that effect. I checked the EPA fuel economy website which has the MPG ratings with regular 87 octane. Ford shows premium under "recommended octane".
