^^^ Ha! Good point about the a/c, but I don't think we have a spring and fall around here - super hot & humid from almost now (definitely by April) and no significant cool down (except on rare days) until well into November.
In the summer evenings, even after dark, it is still in the high 90s and extremely humid, and often the low is only in the mid 80's.
I work outdoors primarily, and the last thing I would want is to drive a car top down, and spend even more time in this shat (unless I'm getting paid, buttofcourse).

I lived most of my life in Texas, but never in DFW. In Austin, the average High in October is 82, and the average low is 61. That is glorious convertible weather -- and it lasts through late May, when the average highs creep into the high 80s.
There are a helluva lot more good convertible days in Texas than there are in Viriginia, which is plenty hot & humid in the high summer, rainy as hell in the Spring, and cold & snowy (with salted roads) in the winter.
