I travel in India at least once a year. Why would I watch a documentary about it? I'm well aware of the problems women face in India. My wife is Indian, and got the crap beaten out of her on more than one occasion by her brothers for some minor perceived slight.
I have to be honest with you, I find western journalisms portrayals of India irritating for the most part. Its almost like there is concerted effort to make India appear to be a terrible place. They never show the thriving suburban areas or upscale shopping districts. Its always some dreary poverty porn. This seems to mask a certain western fear of the inevitable Chinese/Indian hegemony that will be the story of this century.
