To add to the sentiment of others here, I have a GT2 and 930 Turbo's 3.0 and the 912 is WAY more fun on the city streets of San Francisco. Cranking through the park on the bends. Up the hills. My 930's can't touch the 912 with it's turbo lag. The GT2 is a monster and yes, destroys the car up a hill, (Filbert) but scares the hell out of me with people and other cars around. It's a rocket ship and simply isn't as fun in the city as the back end always wants to come out from under her. Both those cars have their place on the Sonoma Coast where I spend a TON of time and can rip up the bends and straight aways.
The 912 shifts and sounds and feels like the old pair of jeans and t-shirt that is soft as hell that you put on for the weekend. The smell inside even smells old and vintage. Ever knob, every crinkle has patina. That can't be replaced. It's the kind of car that I don't stress as much parking it at the super market to grab some groceries compared to the others. Shocking, I also get more thumbs up in the 912 than either of the other cars.
I don't see these cars going down in price. They have their place 100% in the garage. I just have to figure out where that space is going!
