Stupid question, you added the new hose(s) in the pic, but is there a hose under the car connected to the heat exchanger or is it just a pipe sucking cold air?
I had a similar experience years ago, turned out to be the fuel line under the car were so old that when the car got hot, the lines were collapsing.
