Although it is removable, it is designed to be fired in place. IMO. The barrel is rifled but the muzzle is not rifled it is slotted and tapered.
The inside appears to be a funnel shape from small to large in the direction a flight.
Large enough where the bullet would not contact the muzzle during flight.
