Actually it is new but hanging up at the first part of pressing down on the gas pedal. That is a big part of the issue I think is the slight hang up. But when I pulled the mats away ...everything looked in very good working condition. Then I remember the pedal set is new since its from a g50 setup. when the 3.6 conversion was done. It seems like something may be binding slightly in the tunnel. I can feel it by reaching around the tunnel hole by the gas pedal but can't easily see it or get much of a good view. Maybe the linkage is rubbing up against something in there like a cable or some other line. I'm not sure how to access the tunnel. I guess from the inside, I probably have to pull the center console out and take a look.
