My parents were married in college in Reno in 1955. Dad drove an MG-TD. They made weekend trips down to Sacramento to see "mummy-daddy" (mom's parents) in the TD come rain or shine or snow. Highway 40 was two lanes from below Roseville all the way to Reno and dad said that the drive home to Reno on Sunday evenings was just like this. Long lines of cars stuck behind a semi truck, bus, etc. Passing lanes were few and far between and accidents from dangerous passing were routine. Dad said sometimes they didn't get to Reno until three in the morning. If my dad were alive and saw this picture he'd say "Christ I don't miss that."
