Yes but that is the deal with every car (
AFAIK) running DRLs. The confusion for the driver (or at least for me) was that the instruments/dash is illuminated continuously. Pile that on top of street lights, lots of white snow and seeing my headlights shining on the building when I started the car resulted in my error. I guess that makes me an idiot.
