It's a problem for all cars with DRLs, not just Subaru's. My old '99 Tahoe has DRLs but fortunately the dash lights do not come on w/o regular lights on position of switch. At least DRLs are keeping idiots in my neighborhood from driving around on pitch black streets with no lights on at all. I still see a lot of that on cars w/o DRLs.
