118k is high miles for a 996 turbo only because most 996 turbos are not driven much and most have low miles. 118k is not a lot of miles for that car. I've looked into most Porsche models over the years and just about all have "gotchas" that can range from not terribly bad to big $$$, but I have to say there doesn't seem to be any with the 996 turbo as far as the engine go. Isolated issues here and there but none of the glaring "thread after thread" issues that seem to come up with other models. Pretty amazing and why I'm on the hunt for one too!
