The hose expanded because the layers inside have seperated. It will soon split open!
This is a high pressure hose, hence the special crimped ends and high pressure rated hose.
As others have said, it can be repaired by a shop with the right tools or you can buy a replacement from Pelican.
I would do the latter and be done....
