SF has tons of things to do. See other threads here on this forum about what to do when you're there.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a world-class attraction that would be worth a visit. Monterey Bay Aquarium. There are lots of good wineries in the Monterey area too, if you'd like to do some tasting.
Up in the San Lorenzo Valley, just above Santa Cruz, is Henry Cowell State Park which is home to some of the biggest damn trees that you'll ever see. These are old-growth redwoods, some of which have been around since the time of Christ. Henry Cowell Redwoods SP. There's a great live music scene in Santa Cruz too, with lots of small venues showcasing both national touring bands as well as local Bay Area acts. Check this site for local happenings: Good Times Santa Cruz newspaper, arts, music, entertainment. Ten minutes north of Santa Cruz, just off Hiway 17, is Canepa Design in Scotts Valley. This is a high-end automotive restoration/race shop that also houses a consignment showroom and a race car museum. Their visiting hours might be affected by participation at Rennsport...call before you go. Canepa
For golf, you might look into DeLaveaga Golf & Lodge, also in Santa Cruz. Not as spectacular as Pebble Beach, but very nice nonetheless, and much less expensive. DeLaveaga Golf & Lodge | Santa Cruz, CA
If you get down south as far as the LA area and need a car fix, try the Nethercutt Collection in Sylmar The Nethercutt Collection. Unfortunately, the Peterson Museum will still be closed for renovation while you're out here.

Lots more to do in the area too...this is just a start. Have a great trip!

Thanks rcooled,

Lot's of great info here. Will start to build an itinerary.
