I guess I must be like Imelda Marcos' bastard step son. I have maybe a grand total of 10 or 12 pairs of tennis shoes, work boots, cowboy boots, mud boots, black dress shoes, docksiders, house slippers, and water shoes, and it drives me nuts how much room they take up in my closet.
I've never been a clothes horse, or a fashionitsa, and get by just fine with that amount. I can't imagine thinking of the wasted money sitting in your collection.
