Yep. And they are LITTLE bitty cars. My 914 was close to 2,000 lbs. I drove the Tesla roadster that was based on the Lotus. I was shoulder to shoulder with the passenger, actually touching shoulders. I had to put on and wear that car not get in it.
It is comforting to know modern cars have a big heavy beam in the door and in the bumpers and crumple zones. Of course any modern car by law has to have airbags, ABS, tire pressure monitors and now even backup cameras!
