Let me add one more car-related destination if you happen to venture up near SF. Over on the east side of the Bay, is the town of Danville and the
Blackhawk Automotive Museum. This isn't just some converted industrial building full of cars, but rather a purpose-build facility especially designed to showcase classic automobiles in a truly beautiful setting. It's all glass & granite, with custom-designed lighting that brings out the best in every car on display. Docent-led tours are available, but not required, and the museum hosts many special events as well. They also have a cars & coffee on the first Sunday of each month that usually attracts well over a hundred classics, sports cars, customs, exotics and hotrods.
