You are not saving anything by leaving them there while you removed & replaced the old cylinder head studs. The cam tower/s and cylinder heads have to be removed so what would be the advantage of leaving the P&C's? I don't find any advantage of leaving the P&C while you work on the studs replacements. A shop might do it to save time in getting everything back together. But I doubt it.

That's cool, I was thinking just to save time. because once you remove the P&C's completely i feel like it would be best to hone the cylinders and do you need new rings at that point?
