There are two very different types of Porsches out there. We also have two very different types of owners.
Most of us are hobbyists. Our 911 is a hobby and we mess around with the car in our free time.
The we have the collectible Porsches. The RS and RSR cars are a good example. Once you get over $1,000,000 it difficult to call it a hobby. These cars are collectible objects similar to paintings and furniture.
This is most apparent in the auctions. Barrett Jackson and Mecum are for the hobbyist. RM, Gooding and Bonhams are for the collectors. Very different cars for very different people.
Both groups are fun. They're just totally different. Driving a 911 doesn't make you superior to to the person who collects Porsches. It's just two different things.

I did for the people who own collectible Porsches. Actually the hobbyist can learn something as well.
