I've paid over market several times for skilled tradesmen/journeyman and the idea of being held responsible for your work vs pay always leads to going down the road for less pay and fewer responsibilities. I've been told as much because I actually have good relationships with most who have left "Man, I just didn't want it all on my shoulders!"
